Roaring Praise

The night was quiet and still. All you could hear was the rushed passing of cars and random conversations of people on the phone walking passed the window. It's 1:29 AM and I have one more day until I return to school with absolutely no work completed - let alone even started. The stress from this is still lingering in my heart and is making it difficult for me to fall asleep, but it was much more profound during the day. After I cleaned my room I found myself attempting to find distractions to procrastinate even more. I became a criminal- as I knew I no longer had an excuse to not start work. My heart was uneasy and so was my body. I became extremely tense and uncomfortable all over. Then all of a sudden on this plain and barren evening where I sat restlessly, rotting away in bed, I heard a knock from the sky above me. It greeted me with gentle pit-pats and grew itself in a matter of seconds. I immediately knew it was my long-distance friend who came to visit. I haven't seen her for a while and missed her profoundly. The first words I uttered upon hearing her were "Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar," all praise is due to Allah - the greatest! And after a quick gleaming light and a moment of silence, she too said the same and announced her roaring praise to The All-Mighty. There was no need to speak to each other since our similarities sufficed. How beautiful it was to know that we are both living creations of the best of creators! I closed my eyes, let my body relax, and allowed my mind to roam as it wished. Slowly breathing in the humid air as I looked out the window to see life and all it entailed fall to peace as the sky rapidly flashed white. I knew what that signal meant and closed my eyes once more to hear the thunderclaps praise our Lord.
And glorifies the thunder with his praise - and the Angels for fear of Him. And He sends the thunderbolts and strikes with it whom He wills, yet they dispute about Allah. And He (is) Mighty (in) Strength.
