Nice vs. Good

A couple weeks ago we went out with 3 other couples to a really nice sushi place.

We had a great time and had delicious food. After the meal, you could kind of tell that everyone was still kinda hungry. Of course, we live in polite society and just paid for an expensive dinner, so nobody said anything.

We all then decided to go back to one couples' house, and on the way Aviva and I decided we would stop and get a bunch of McDonald's nuggets to surprise everyone.

When we got to the house, everyone was psyched and said we could have just gotten McDonald's in the first place!

It wasn't the fancy dinner that made things fun, it was the company. Is it ever really the material things?

For years Aviva and I have been talking about things being nice vs. good and how people often confuse them.

What's the deal? Why do we think and act like nice things are inherently good? Do other people think about the same thing? Should we be talking about this more?

Talk soon, Mitch
