My choice currently boils down to: Using Standardnotes with the free Rich Markdown Editor as a note taking app. I bought their 5 year extended plan in order to get a decent html editor for my notes imported from Evernote. For dark mode I use the official Midnight Theme. A similar free theme is Overcast. Unfortunately both extended html editors have severe bugs for lists.
