Paul O'Brien

Paul O'Brien lives in West London with his beautiful wife, where they enjoy the vibrant city life together. As a proud father of four grown-up children, Paul cherishes family time but also finds joy in the quieter moments. By day, he serves as a dedicated Civil Servant in London, navigating the complexities of government work. I found a lost child, it was scary for me too

I was in The Chimes shopping centre in Uxbridge, just leaving Boots and making my way over to HMV, where my wife and son were looking at the mystery boxes. While making the very short walk, a little dude walked right in front of me, it was a miracle I didn't trip over him, or worse kick the poor mite. He looked about 3 years old, a little Asian chap, seemed to be tailing someone, he looked like he had somewhere to be, but something didn't feel right. He didn't look like he was following anyone i...

First Impressions of Standard Notes

I have only been using Standard Notes for about a week, but there are a few serious issues I have encountered, and a few functions that are missing, which are kind of essential to me. So I thought I'd share my thoughts. What's Broke When I expand the MacOS app to full screen and then try and click on the new note icon, the note app starts misbehaving. Creating A Webpage to Sell A Domain Name

I've decided to sell 20 or so domains I have had in my portfolio for many years, but rather than use the service of a broker, I decided to instead create a simple Domain Name For Sale web page, costing me as little as possible. I done this by using the new  DuckDuckGo AI Chat, Mixtral 8x7B API. And for a ...

Today was meant to be fun, for both of us

I've taken today off work, as I had some flexi time owed to me, I was tired, and as this Monday is a bank holiday I thought I would have an extra long weekend. I had so many plans for today, all involving going out somewhere nice with my good wife. Maybe to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the last of the half decent British weather. Instead, I have landed up transferring 30 domain names from 20i.com to cloudflare.com. What a sad individual I am 😂. I'd only started transferring them as I was waitin...

Who stole my Nectar points?

I've shopped in Sainsbury's for over 25 years and since the launch of their Nectar card, have enjoyed many Christmas dinners paid for from my previous years points. I tend to let the points accumulate rather than spending them all the time. My Story Starts Here I'd just switched to Proton Pass and was working my way through the list of weak passwords that were shown in the Pass Monitor. Nectar.com was one of the weak passwords, so for the first time is a long while I logged into my account, wi...

Why brain dumps are important

First off I should explain for those of you that don't know, what is a brain dump? This is my way of conducting a Brain Dump My mind is always going ten to the dozen, I never really switch off, my brain is always thinking of new idea's, things I need to remember and how comes I am already 49! So a few years back, I was harassed and on a full blown moan to my wonderful wife, when she said to me "rather than rambling on to me, write down everything on your brain" "that way, you get it off your ...
