Drowning in the Sky
February 28, 2024•112 words
I hear the calling
Of the the thing you call despair
But little do you know
It's the only hope we have
As the flames rise higher
As the cities sink deep
The only salvation
Is fear before the leap
Slowly boiling
The skies above
Hold on to your loved
They will not last for long
We knew it was calling
We sensed its grip
Just piles of corpses
With no time to dig
I wish I could tell you
I wish I could speak
Paralyzed by the futures
Afraid of the leap
Will you listen to me
Afraid to lose sense
Or a story to be told
Only in paste tense
