Poem interrupted

I found myself upon a bench, midway upon a city I have long since called home. Sir Carlton Edwards and Madam Ellen stumbled upon me, a bench which I would seek retreat. An old lady with her dog walked up to me. And while I wanted to write a poem with a different ending, I realized I was living one in real time. So I wrote nothing. And aspects of that interaction will be lost to time. But I did not care. I spoke to this elderly lady, Ellen, and her dog, Carlton, for as long as she want...

Don't

Blanky

The sun is sluggish to rise, although it will be in anger this day. Only those working construction and those without construct exist on the street. Huddled next to a neon church, named Hungry Jack. A place with no locks on its doors. So those who abuse substances, more terrible than what the establishment offers, call home. While I have heard and seen many a sadness, this one is sure to take the day. At least, I hope, I can bear no other than this. A woman, barefoot, holding a blanket. In...

Cat got your tongue?

Yes. One with claws. People enter my court, demanding I speak. I would write them 10 words, if it would save me speaking one. My voice is even. Not from practice, but from being blown out.
