Chastity Dice Game

Cage-Dice

From Reddit Post

Standard Mode

  • Roll 2 six sided dice every week,
  • Subtract the result by 1
  • Add that number to your chastity sentence.

e.g.

If you roll a 10, that means you're going to be locked for 9 days, but that next week, you still have to roll again.

If you roll a 6, you add 5 to the remaining 2 days, etc.

If you're lucky, you get less than a week, but enough very bad rolls could keep you locked for 20+ weeks.

Hard mode

  • Same as above, but don't subtract 1.

Mathematically, you'll eventually be released, but there's a fairly high chance (6%) that you'll be locked longer than a year, and a non zero chance of this game lasting for your whole life. If you roll a 12 the first week, then 10 the second, then 8 the third, you'll likely be locked up for quite a few weeks.

I can think of a few other variants that lower how long you play and reduce variance. Maybe you roll 3-4 dice and a key holder chooses the 2 they prefer. Maybe you still roll 2, but you get the option to reroll one or both. Rolling doubles adds 0 days or even subtracts days (double 6 could subtract 6 days, etc).

Every couple or every single player could have their own variant. I think the idea of earning rerolls could give an anxious keyholder control over a lockup without explicitly giving an unlock date.

This game works because the expected value of 2 six sided dice is 7. Every 7 days you add an expected 7 days to the lockup. The additional rules lower than expected value, allowing for more predictable lockup times.
