the open secret

A while back I read "Turtles All the Way Down" by John Green and was struck by the character who posted poetry and philosophical musings on his anonymous blog. Anonymity is so... alluring.

For some reason I don't like the idea of people in my inner circle accessing my thoughts. Maybe it's shyness or hyper-sensitivity to criticism. It's like, I want to be known, but from a distance.

So I'm going to give this blog a shot. Maybe no one will read my words. But maybe they will. And isn't an open secret just a little thrilling?
