You Had Me Before Hello

A whole lot of years ago I met a woman that left me feeling alive. When we met, she was already engaged to be married. At the time, I didn't feel it was my place to impose on that relationship. There were a few times that we spent together that could have taken us from mutual attraction into more. They were events that if they had gone just slightly differently from what did happen.., well, life would be very different. Having gone as things did, we lost contact when she left to get married. Having met her at a time and place that this would have been completely understood, I oftentimes imagined a scene like the one in Jerry Maguire, when he walks in explaining how it is meaningless without her and the famous line "You had me at hello." as being what would be said when we do meet again.

With Christmas on the horizon (and the TV), I went and found that scene. Though I am no more able to see her today than I have been previously..,
