32nd Entry

Earlier on in my Listed™ timeline I wrote a sort of meta-piece on the process itself; of writing on Listed. In that post I reflected on the fact that I had been publishing (to use Listed's own nomenclature) for twelve days straight, entertaining the idea that I could keep it up for an extended period of time.
In the end, I thought it best to strike while the iron was hot, to not try to force it in any way. So here we are, my "streak" having been broken for a few days now. I had a good run though, posting thirty-one days in a row: 12 846 words in 31 days, averaging about 414 words a day. Quite a many lesson plans, a couple of essays here and there, a few recaps of some of my earlier texts — not too shabby for an Average Joe, right?
I'm proud of what I managed to create, especially since it happened on something of a whim. It was a challenge I set for myself, to do something a bit different in order to break the monotony. And what great fun it was, even if I didn't make it to a hundred days (which I never promised to do, mind you!).
It can be very fulfilling to write as a pastime, as long as it doesn't get in the way of things (whatever those "things" may be). I don't want a writing challenge to turn against the idea itself, to put me off writing.
I reckon I'll be taking a hiatus now, in a way; posting a tad more sporadically, whenever I feel the urge — which I'm sure I will.
