Air India Fl 171

Air India Flight 171 crashed fatally, killing 241 out of 242 people onboard.

On Thursday, a Boeing 787-8 carrying 2 pilots, 10 other crew members and 230 passengers was taking off from Ahmadabad Airport in Western India. Its destination was London Gatwick Airport.

It took of from runway “23”, and just after taking off, the pilots reported their ground speed— 322 km/h, and said they were climbing to 625 feet, which is about 190 meters. A few seconds later, the pilots called [[MAYDAY]].

241 people on board died, with one survivor, Ramesh Viswash Kumar. There were also 4 deaths on the ground, which were all medical students.

Vijay Rupani, Gujarat’s former Chief Minister has also died in the crash.

Many countries have expressed their condolences and have also offered to send investigation teams. The FAA is one of them.

The most important question is “What caused this accident?”. The answer for this is question still not known. Some chances that can be considered are Engine Failure, Short Circuit and some other problems inside the plane’s engines or other vital parts. Some also say it is caused by bird strike, which is probably a false claim to protect [[Boeing]]’s reputation from another hit. The 787-8 was already flagged with 8 issues by Aviation Authorities.

The investigation is going on and also efforts to find the [[Black Box]], is in full swing.

The plane was reportedly bought in 2014, which means it’s 11 years old now.

The positive part is that these crashes occur rarely, because planes are the safest mode of transport in the world. Planes are also made to handle bad weather, bird strikes and such things.

We pray for all the families of the victims and the survivors, workers, investigators, firefighters, ambulance service members and all others affected.
