Stealth Technology

Stealth is a technology that can make jets difficult to spot on the Radar. What it does is that it deflects away the RF signals or absorbs it. But a huge misconception is that “Stealth” means “Invisible”. Which is not true AT ALL. 5th Generation jets are mainly stealth aircraft. For Example - F-35 Lightning(Yes the one which came to visit Kerala and stayed due to “Severe Fever”), Su -57 Felon, F-22 Raptor, Chengdu J-20 and the J-35. There also a few projects for making more 5th Generation fighters they are — HAL AMCA, TAI TF KAAN, KAI KF-21 Boramae. The B-2 Spirit is a stealth bomber. The [[HAL Tejas]]’s RCS is the size of a Bucket(Radar Cross Section). The F-35 has about the size of an iPad and the Su-57 has about the size of a Laptop.
For instance an Insects’ RCS is about 3.54 cm2. And, F-117 Nighthawks is about 10.00 cm2. But that still doesn’t make it invisible, and even the F-117 Nighthawk was shot-down in 1999 by a Serbian ADS’ SAM.
Nowadays proper stealth radar is also being made in order to detect stealth aircraft. For example — VHF and LHF radars.
