Humor for Ill People

'Starbucks told me that there was "no status" for my drink
'The peer support network for mental health told me that the "connection was unstable."
'There was a setting in a popular graphics design program where my text would have "no style."
'A peer support manager said that he tells his auditory hallucinations to "leave a voice message. "
Jokes about lacking style, status, or stability are few and far between for the blogger. Humor shared within a community facing chronic challenges lifts the his spirits because it creates a space to connect with peers who share similar experiences. Without these moments, the weight of premature death, physical illness, and the “extras” the illnesses he calls anxiety, OCD, and cognitive impairment might lead to despair. The blogger believes that everything happens for a reason, and even if that reason isn’t clear in this life, it may become apparent when reaching an eternal reward.
