Windows is turned off for outside apps, except those from the official store. This writer relies on a few of them. The apps are simple, and after thirty years of using Windows, the file system still feels straightforward. Surprisingly, some of the apps available there work well for this writer—and they’re free.
The display on the Windows tab outperforms Apple’s base iPad; it appears more laminated, more refined. The non-dedicated AI tool in use is entirely sufficient. If there were a request for improvement, it would be that the common AI voice could tone it down. It feels too personal.
Thankfully, this writer doesn’t require Pro-level hardware for daily work. The stylus in use offers 4,000 sensitivity levels, though it’s considered old by current standards. Cheap replacements are available at the online flea market.
There’s no sense that Windows is selling this writer into its ecosystem or pushing many additional purchases. The Windows experience remains unobtrusive.
