Think Divergent App for IOS-Apple

I haven't tried any other body doubling apps. The concept of body doubling involves real-time interaction regarding our tasks. The "double," or the other person in the chat, ideally responds and supports our goals. An attractive feature of Think Divergent (TD) is the anonymous nature of the interaction. It is text-only, so there’s no concern about one's appearance or manners.

There are other doubling apps, such as Focusmate and Dubbii. However, unlike those services, Think Divergent is free for users. Some of these other apps offer additional features like video interactions and support for management tools like Pomodoro. I'm not sure about the specifics of TD, but it seems the body doubling genre is especially beneficial for people with ADHD, as it helps support focus and motivation in tasks. Being neurodivergent myself, I find this approach suited to my needs.

Finding motivation and building on it day to day can be challenging, especially with symptoms of schizoaffective disorder. Additionally, being separated from the workforce often leads to feelings of loneliness at home. The TD tool helps bridge that gap. I believe I discovered TD through the Alternative website. Signing up was easy; if memory serves, there was just a little form to fill out, and then I could join the TD community. The standard time of a session is thirty minutes.

There can be some uncertainty when interacting with an unknown person, even through text messages. It takes a moment to adapt to their style. For instance, today someone referred to me as "monkey," which was initially offensive. However, after reflecting on it and recognizing my own sensitivity, I’m glad I stayed in the session. That term turned out to be a friendly diminutive from my TD partner for those thirty minutes. Also, at this time, it is unclear to me whether my anonymous handle is "Monkey"

There are people with different values to meet within this platform, so it's important to be open to a bit of discomfort that may arise from casual texting styles. In this case, my partner even asked if I would like to continue working for another thirty minutes. At the end of the session, it remained anonymous. If I had experienced anything negative, I could have easily exited the meeting and flagged the interaction for future reference.

Think Divergent is available for Apple, Android and Online site
