Monday at 7:58 PM #30days writing Challenge

Over  100 days consecutively, writing on my blog has been a soothing outlet for my odd thoughts during the writing challenge. I’ve discovered several new writers on Listed.to, and I’m planning to shift to another #30days writing challenge there.

I’ve also been using “offloading” to jot down irrational fears before bedtime. While many of these fears are implausible or inconsequential, the practice helps clear my mind.

Today I attended an online art‑video session hosted by a local arts‑education charity. It was decent enough to spark some motivation, so I sketched a few quick doodles with whatever I had on hand—pencil, gel pen, and ball‑point pen. The result wasn’t anything remarkable, but the act of creating is what truly matters. Some of the participants are formally trained artists who tend to look askance at ball‑point pens as a drawing tool. Still, seeing M. Pelosi work extensively with ball‑point ink reminds me that simple tools can still produce compelling work, so I’ll keep experimenting.

Tomorrow brings another day—and another mantra for this writer. I’m currently between projects. I might:

Crochet a new cat figure from velvet yarn for fun, or
Pick up a cheap sweater pattern on Etsy and try making a garment for myself.
There’s an old urban legend that giving someone a handmade crochet item severs the bond with that person. I’m not inclined to test that theory, so I’ll keep my crochet creations to myself—for now.
