Bad Cars on My Mind

Bad Cars on My Mind

Recently I watched a video stream of Touched by an Angel—where the chariot of the angels is an arrest‑me‑red, 1970s Cadillac Eldorado convertible. What is it about an Eldorado that makes it a “bad car”? Why do car people promote them on YouTube?

Today I saw a video about the ten most quickly depreciating cars. “Mainline” cars are the subjects of that depreciating‑cars list, so the most exotic models are left out. What strikes me is how many of the cars I actually want show up on these lists of “bad cars.” There are electric cars on the list. Many are American.

One that caught my attention was the Dodge Hornet— Dodge company's parent company is an international conglomerate. Since I want a bargain and I want a stylish, marvelous car, the Hornet stood out. Mainly I remember it because it was on that list: the tenth most quickly depreciating car right now. It’s not a bad‑looking car, but it seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
