Ended Subscriptions

Ended Subscriptions

Over the last three days, it was easy to end the unnecessary digital subscriptions that were sapping my bank account. Consequently, I am now spending \$60 less per month.

My Xbox subscription was due to renew for \$30, but I caught it in time. I discovered that it is not enough to simply remove the bank card; there is an additional required step of turning off recurring billing. It made me a bit angry to realize I could have been billed for another month if I hadn't navigated through several more menus to remove that option.

The subscription that hurt the most to end was Creativebug, primarily because it was only \$5 monthly and I had started with such good intentions. They prolonged the "break-up" by asking me at least twice, "Are you sure you want to cancel? Do you still want to cancel?".

The site even told me, "...sorry to see you go," as though I were their last living relative and they were about to pass away. I may return to them in the future, of course. Overall, while the list of six subscriptions seemed daunting at first, it was not actually difficult to cut them.
