Christianity and the keys to life's trials and struggles: Part 1
October 14, 2024•460 words
How do we navigate the trials and struggles of life? No one answer solves this, and absolutly no one blog post will bring full clarity. The spectrum of trials are vast, requiring more than a simple answer.
There are the emotional, physical, and mental struggles. Each one caused and affected by a multitude of underlying instances.
The best way, especially for a short post like this, to help is to give ways Brethren work through these trials and struggles. There are three foundational keys we use and there will be two parts with the conclusion at the end of post two.
Sadly, these fundamental keys are often rejected. Perhaps someone will be helped by these posts and see the truth of Christianity. How does Christianity give keys to life's struggle and trials?
The first key is the Bible. The Bible is the manuscript for life. It is not a science book, History book, Geography book, etc. However, when it does address these issues, it is perfect. The Bible is God's Word to us which tells us many things:
1) Where we came from.
2) What we are doing here.
3) What happens to us when we die.
4) How we are to live
5) What is expected of us
6) How trials and struggles came to be
7) God's expectation from us in light of His moral law
And many other things.Sadly, many in the world casts doubt on the Bible by saying,
"It is full of contradictions",
"It is only written by man",
"It is only a collection of ancient writings",
"It has no meaning for us today"
"Did God really say?"
On and on it goes. What is interesting to note is that when the Bible started to be ignored and downplayed, society and individually we have slipped so far down the slope of moral relativism, that we now have professionals unable to define what a woman is!
Drug use is up, depression is up, suicide is up, hopelessness is up, chaos is up, crime is up, morality is in decline, our nation is in decline, our people are in decline, our standards are in decline. Yes, there is a coralation.
We will address the Bible more in other posts and deal with many of the objections.
The second key is The Holy Spirit (for true Christians only). The Holy Spirit is a broad topic, but suffice it to say He is misunderstood. He is attributed to much of what is done in church, and very little of it reflects His job and Who He is. The second thing to consider is the Holy Spirit NEVER contradicts the Bible. But He is either ignored, or misapplied by many. We will also adress more about Him in other posts.
