Who does not love an amazing picture? A beautiful scene? Beautiful people? Our world is surrounded by beauty. The colors, the shapes, the pronounced forms, each one broadcasts and showcases beauty, danger, and intrigue. It is this desire to learn more and understand what we are seeing that draws mankind to study, go, observe. The travel to the deepest part of the oceans. Scaling the highest point on the mountains. Launching satellites and rockets to explore the deepest parts of space we can. Why? One of the evidences for the existence of God is the fact that we can observe beauty and appreciate it. This beauty defies evolutionary thought for inside a closed system, beauty serves no purpose. It should cause us to stop and consider our appreciation of beauty.
This recognition of beauty speaks to the reality that beauty is created by God and can only come from Him. Therefore, to recognize beauty is to admit there must be a designer. Evolutionary theory cannot account for all the beauty we see for inside a closed system, there is no beauty. This should cause us to stop to consider our belief. When we see something that draws us into the beauty, it exposes us to the reality of a God who has designed and prepared the world and all therein to be beautiful. This beauty points to the existence of God, and causes us to see some attributes of God through it. Even deeper, the very fact that mankind is drawn to beauty also speaks of something deeper than just a superficial appreciation of beauty. Why does this exist?
The argument for this beauty should not be passed over too quickly. This argument should also not be discounted because it could be varied, and agreeably subjective. Instead, the weight of this argument should be given its proper weight. But this is not the only argument we can look at.
