The Comisión Provincial de Ajedrez en Ciego de Ávila (Cuba) held the Tomás Jiménez Memorial in mid-July 2026, a 10-round Double Round Robin competition in Group I (highest of the 4, total) at the Centro Recreativo Cultural "El Patio del Mulato Acelerao". Andrez Paz Valedez directed the event with a time control of 60 minutes with a 30 second increment per move. Yadel Acosta Guerrero won the action easily, finishing 2 points ahead of the rest. Carlos Piedra Toboso came second with 5.5 points and Esteban Alvarez Ruiz third with 5 points.
