Learning 2026

2026 The Year for Learning

As part of 2026 goals I want to make learning a part of my life. I am sure at this point I burned myself out a year ago working on my master's in cybersecurity and simultaneously moving into a leadership role. So I've decided to try and spark my life long love of learning.

I've tried with some success to use my limited knowledge of interacting with generative LLM models like Proton's Lumo, and Open Ai's ChatGPT to research some topics to focus my learning time on. No surprise, how I can use Ai to potentially not only help my day to day technical work but strategically give me some insight as a leader is where I'll be focusing my time. A strong second is gaining in depth Kubernetes and Terraform knowledge.

Beginning Ai Courses for Business and Tech

Luckily, as part of being CU Denver Alumni I have access to paid services such as LinkedIn Learning. Worth checking with your previous or current employers and educators to see if you may have access to these types of learning resources. And as Always YouTube! I'll document what I've found so far, and report in updates as I work through this path.

LinkedIn Learning

I like the UI interface and the initial look at the content seems good. Although I'd like to see less Ai and more searchability. It said it analyzed my Linked In profile and determined I was transitioning into a Director role when I've been a director for 3+ years. The courses chosen seem appropriate, but maybe a little entry level. We'll see as I work through them how much the content is engaging or adding anything to my existing knowledge on project management topics.

I'll do some more research with YouTube and other learning platforms and decide if the paid ones are worth the price.
