Mehdi Hassan, Piers Morgan and Moral Quandary
Mehdi Hassan is on fire! I think at this stage, Piers Morgan enjoys being humiliated. After more than 70 years of persecution and apartheid, Piers still has a "moral quandary"? The Gaza Genocide and the plight of Palestinians continue to expose the hypocrisy of countries that espouse human rights, freedom of speech and other "democratic" values. However, these "human rights" loving countries have caused more chaos than peace in the World. This seems to be the classic tactic of calling a dog...

Reboot
I have been blogging on and off for many years. I hosted my blogs on WordPress, Blogger & Tumblr. But I have deleted them all. Now, I intend to make a fresh start. I purchased a domain and got to work. I'm open to going with the flow of this blog. I do not intend to censor my thoughts and opinions. This blog will reflect my raw opinions and beliefs. Some are firm. Some might be developing. Either way, they are mine. I'm not going to pretend that I will evaluate everything from a neutral ...

CSS Code to Remove Header Image on Listed blog
I dislike the header and meta image feature in the Listed blog settings. Here's the code and steps to remove that setting: Step 1: Create a new note in Standard Notes and call it "no-header-theme.css" (the name can be anything). Step 2: Copy the following metadata structure and CSS, then paste it into your note. --- metatype: css --- /* Hides author image */ .header-image-container { display: none; } Step 3: Publish the note to your blog. Hopefully, this should remove the header image. ...

60 Days to Super You
Today I am starting on a new journey towards closing the year 2022 on a positive note. I started to focus on my health for the next 60 days. A lot of people will start to talk about New Year Resolutions and becoming the "New You" around December & January. But, I'm taking a different route. My focus is to cultivate the below habits for the next 60 days i.e. until 31st December 2022. I intend to treat these habits stack as my experiment and I look forward to sharing my journey along the way...

Being Vulnerable
Today I noticed that I had the urge to write about my thoughts and feelings. Whenever I want to share something on the web, I feel apprehensive. I am not sure if I wish to share something online. However, sharing is learning to be vulnerable. Slowly, I am learning to be vulnerable. ...

Mantra Meditation
Today I started my Meditation Practice after a long time. A few years back, I learned Transcendental Meditation. It was great. I was going through a lot of stress both mentally and emotionally. And, TM helped me a lot to cope and manage my scars. Over the next couple of years, I have been meditating on and off. I have fallen off TM. I have tried Mindfulness Meditation using apps like Headspace and Calm. But, I always come back to TM i.e Mantra Meditation. I stumbled upon the Oak Meditation a...

Running
Today I noticed that I do like to run. I remember starting to run nearly a decade ago. I really enjoyed it more than strength training. Now that I’m overweight and in my late thirties, I’m going back to what I have enjoyed to lose my weight. I’m using a C25K app and finished my first week‘a run. I’m really excited for this health journey. ...

How To Interpret My Reading List
Reading is something very near and dear to me. Growing up around lots of books has instilled a love of books and reading in me. Inspired by Oceanographer Eric W. Leuliette's reading list and Writer Jamie Todd Rubbin's list, I'm starting my own journey of tracking my reading in this blog. I'm grateful to Eric & Jamie for sharing their reading and framework for creating this reading list. Here's how to interpret the list below: Each book I finished will get its own number. Re-reads are de...

Standard Notes vs Obsidian
I’m bombarded with Obsidian content on YouTube for quite some time now. I genuinely tried it. But, every time I tried to like it, something was pushing me away. I have grown to love the simplicity of Standard Notes. It loads fast and is pretty much frictionless to capture my notes, thoughts and ideas. Standard Notes may not have the bells and whistles of Obsidian but the speed and simplicity pull me back. I can safely say that I’m in it for the long haul with Standard Notes. ...

Writing More
I have been meaning to write regularly on a blog of sorts. But, I just end up over-analysing and giving up in the end. One way to beat this analysis paralysis is by lowering my standards and hitting the publish button. Hot tip: I’m planning to track how many times I’m publishing a post in a week. This means, that if an essay is good enough then I will publish it and celebrate with it a fist pump. ...

Tiredness
I have been procrastinating a lot lately. It might be because of fasting during the Indian Summertime. As a British Asian, hot weather doesn’t always agree with me when I’m visiting the Motherland. The heat makes me tired and exhausted. It makes me long for the British Summer. I’m sure I’ll be moaning about the British Summer when I get back home. ...

If you want to know something about yourself
If you want to know something about yourself then do this ONE thing quite often. Sit on your bed one night. Ask "What's ONE thing I'm doing wrong that I'm doing wrong, that I could fix, that I would fix?" Reflect and meditate on that question. You will get an answer but it may not be the one you want but it may be the necessary one. Link: YouTube Shorts ...
