Just got back and got the kids settled after an awesome night of getting to be around beautiful friends, loving family, and people that have become family.
After a day full of being there for clients, previous clients, friends, and people who have become like brothers and sisters to me, my family, then got to go pick up a another amazing hearted friend of mine and take her to our Christmas adventure in Seattle.
It started with going to Dick’s a burger joint in Seattle. Then it was off to Olympic Manor to see one of the most well decorated neighborhoods in Western Washington.
This was particularly awesome because my friend, his girlfriend and who both considers me and I consider my nephew were in the same neighborhood at the same time as us getting to enjoy all of the holiday spirit.
The various different ways that people decorated their houses was amazing.
Anything from 1950s blow mold Santas and Frosty the Snowman to movie projections of the movie Frosty the Snowman on a giant Frosty the Snowman stomach.
All of this was fun, but more importantly was how much joy it brought to my wife, my boys, my friends, and my family.
And that wasn’t the end of the fun then it was off to gasworks Park to witness over 50 votes decorated up in Christmas splendor.
The celebration culminated in a choir singing from a cruise ship while we stood on shore next to a giant bonfire with my youngest sitting on my shoulders.
No, I was very, very, very tired before we left as I’ve had both an emotionally taxing and mentally challenging day.
Strangely enough though, after being open with the friend that I had picked up about how tired I was and yet how grateful I was that she was there to join in our Christmas celebration, things progressively got more energized, light, fun and joyful.
All to the point of it being almost tomorrow and I feel an energized lightness as the result of all of the play and love and enjoy that was experienced.
I’m grateful that I didn’t let feeling a tad under the weather or my tiredness. Keep me from being there for my boys, my wife, my friends and my family.
And now as we near Christmas Eve and knowing there is still a lot to be done tomorrow, I look forward to the peace and rest that I can receive tonight.
Grateful to God for having clear skies and great friendships and relationships.
