As a parent, sometimes it’s tough to remember what it’s like to be a kid. This can be especially true while parenting younger children a bit later in life.

I listened to a guy tell some stories from his past today.
It struck me how similar they were to many of my own experiences.
So why was he the one standing in front of a room full of strangers?
Because he had the courage to be vulnerable.
To share the peaks and valleys he had traversed, in hopes of encouraging and inspiring someone. And it was working.
For the moment, the old cliché, “Misery loves company” rings a little different than usual.
