Heal it yourself (HIY) - Test *

This is where the process of "taking care of oneself" begins. The HIY Test. We will be looking at things that all of us were supposed to have already learned how to do, at home and/or in school....

To create any kind of change we need to first define "what is?" - in the case of healing oneself, we should start with defining our current health situation. This self health evaluation is easy as it requires neither machines nor feelings, you will need just your own power of observation on how you perform on each of the five levels:

  • physical (body)
  • intelectual (mind)
  • emotional (feelings)
  • spiritual (connection / integration to the world around you)
  • sexual (intimacy in a one on one connection)

You will need a pen and paper for this. The test should not take more then 25 minutes, focusing on answering set questions for each of the five areas and not dwelling on how and why present things emerged.

You should use a scale of 0 to 10 to measure intensity. 0 is none, 10 is the most possible. In terms of pain, the scale is:

0 - none
1 - low presense or ache
2 - ache
3 - low pain
4 - low tomoderate pain
5 - moderate pain
6 - moderate to high pain
7 - high pain
8 - a visit to the doctor is necessary because we feel we may loose the body part
9 - severe pain that medication strugles to keep in check
10 - the maximum pain accompanied with loss of hope and sobbing

The scale can be used in evaluating any health issue. Our mental focus, emotional discomfort or ability to connect to the world around us, 10 always being the worst.

Finally, it is useful to keep the results of your self test written, accessible and private. You will want to repeat this test at least once per year to check on your progress and pay attention to any different emerging issues.
