Things your body needs on physical level *

Going back to the definition of health. It says that health is not an absence of symptoms. A person is healthy if they are healthy on all five levels: physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual and sexual.
The physical health shows ability to perform well in the physical domain. It starts with good, restful 8 hours of daily sleep, continues with a good appetite and natural foods, daily physical activity that provides good circulation and lots of oxygen and low levels of stress.
This is all common sense but how do we address problems that often arise? I believe it starts with understanding that none of us were properly educated on how to take care of the body. So a little bit of a "beginners mind" approach helps a lot. Accepting that you may not be trained at it and allowing yourself to make mistakes and also learn from them is a good start.
Possibly the best tool is the Human Condition Theory because it pushes us to focus on what is tried and true, had been practiced and proven over thousands of years.
We also need to make our health a top priority, need to accept that no thing you own (or can ever own) will come close in value to your own body. This is a difficult one - we all like to think that we are responsible owners of our body and can't admit we've sometimes been treating it like a lawn mower.
Remembering the story of Steve Jobs and the 14 billion dollars he had but weren't enough to save his life... it may put things in perspective. But a better way to get to the realization that nothing matters to you as much as you body does is to think of the worst case scenario and what would you do if you found yourself in it.
So taking a moment to consider what your life would look like if your choices drove you to lose your mobility, become permanently bed ridden or maybe lose your mind. What would those scenarios look like in real life? How would you eat, make a living, have a partner or serve someone else?
The whole of our life journey relies on our ability to make enough energy to be able to perform on all of the five levels. No growth, no evolution, no travel, fun or connection is possible unless your body is on some (pretty high) level of operation.
These things are more important than money, or your parents or even your children (neither can benefit unless you take care of yourself first) or your boss or business. Accepting this as a truth no one talks about is the first step to recovering one's health.
