Thai Product Review: Lactosoy SOYMILK Extra300 Original

Disclaimer: Pricing information for reviews of this nature are done differently to restuarant menu item reviews, as prices can vary for all sorts of reasons; because of this the price is listed as 'what it cost me' instead of 'what the price is'.

Cost: 63 Baht for 6x 300ml juice boxes

Purchasing notes:
Available all over Thailand, as it seems to be the country's leading brand. Other variants (including unsweetened) are available.

Lets just start with the ingredients:
"Soymilk (Water and Soybean) 89.2%, Sugar 7.0%, Whole Milk Powder 2.0% [et cetera]".

I'm pointing this out just so that you understand that this is not a lactose or dairy free item. It contains milk, but is mostly soy milk.

Only purchase this item if you want soy milk for its flavour, not as a dairy alternative. (I did not notice until I'd tried one, so I was quite bothered.)

Speaking to that, it tastes like a sweetened soy milk, being fairly thin but still opaque, and is quite flavourful. I think it might be over-sugared, but I'm not generally all that into (non-chocolate) sweets.

The price is affordable for how many you get, assuming that you plan on simply drinking them and not using it in cereal, for instance (this is less of a problem if bought in larger bottle form, which I believe is available).

I think it tastes nice, I just wish it didn't have lactose in it. I suppose, with that name, that is the gimmick...

Item names in the title are either written as provided by the Grab app with Thai to English translation on in settings, or are from the packaging.
