Grab Meal Review: Steak x One-Dried Food - "Grilled Salmon with Soy Sauce on Rice" and "Grilled Pork Neck"

Ordered from:
Steak x One-Dried Food Chan to Chan

Price breakdown (2 items):
Grilled Salmon with Soy Sauce on Rice 229 Baht
Grilled Pork Neck 135 Baht

The grilled pork neck comes with fries, which are just as bland as last time (there is not an option to get this item on rice). Unlike what I'm used to with pork neck, it is unsliced, coming as a large single piece. It is mostly seasoned with black pepper, but isn't as severe a taste as with some of the other items from this restaurant. I think there are people who would be fine with how peppered this item is (unlike some of the more intense items from this place), but I was unhappy as served. Wiping it down with a napkin to get some of the pepper off did a lot to recover it and made it an almost good item. It's very tender and would be nice if it was without pepper almost entirely, had a touch of a nice quality salt, and the fries were any good.

Speaking of the fries I tried the tomato ketchup that comes with them this time, and while it's not unpleasant, it is runny and thin, with the littliest bit of an unwelcome spice flavour and not enough acid to round it out. A middling grade for ketchup.

Onto the salmon steak now, it's smaller then expected and is seasoned (seemingly) with garlic and butter. It does come with soy sauce, but unlike the Saba it is not soy sauced to start with. It tastes overpowered by the butter as served, and the soy sauce, if added, does not match with it at all. The only particularly nice part of it is the salmon's skin on the side of the steak, which is nicely grilled and very tasty. The item as a whole is not good and at a not good price, so it's probably best avoided.
