Sabaton - Lady of the Dark

Today, 134 years ago, Milunka Savić was born. Sometime referred to Serbia's Real Life Mulan, in 1912, she would pose as her younger brother to take his place in the Serbian draft, and in doing so, effectively save his life. By the end of the Great War, she would become most decorated woman in not only World War 1, but one of the most decorates soldiers of the entire war. To this day, she remains the most decorated woman in all of military history!
Savić has been memorialized in multiple ways throughout the years, including, but not limited to, being on Serbian currency and stamps, having a statue of her erected in Inđija, and most recently, an entire memorial complex and exhibition in Jošanička Banja.
Her achievements, honors and sacrifices are honestly too great in number to go into in one post, so if you want to learn about a truly, truly bad ass woman, who deserves a lot more international recognition than she currently gets, search her name, read some of the many stories about her.... and... raise your hand, for the lady of the dark!!!
