Would You Want to Finish High School Early to Begin Your Career?

There’s no doubt that what Sophia Park has done is exceptional. However the exception should remain such. Over the past couple of years especially after the pandemic many opinion writers have been taken aback by the way our young people have disconnected from the world, and seemingly lost their ability to be social with peers their age. Even though I ended up somewhat active in broader society in my high school years, I wonder how different things would have been had I done more. Sure, not everyone is going to have a high school experience like is often depicted on the big or small screens. We can’t all fall in love with the Qb or the head cheerleader! Still, because friend groups can change year to year if you want, it’s a low risk, high reward environment to learn how to make and keep friendships outside of the required scenarios, school or work. Beyond the social aspect, the exposure to the extracurriculars in high school allows one to explore a sample plate of where life can take you. I still look fondly at CS or photojournalism even though I’m a news writer. Don’t have your life set in stone just yet!
