Saw the bod of Nesbister for the first time today. Its a beautiful stone cabin my grandparents fixed up 40 years ago. They still own it. It was being rented out for camping for a while but stopped during covid.

We had to walk through a muddy field and along a beach to get there, dodging sheep droppings most of the way. Getting down there, I realized it was much more public than I had expected. I'd been seeing pictures of it for years but I didn't realize it was in the middle of a bay and surrounded by houses. We went inside briefly to check the condition it was in. The answer: quite good! For the most part it's just a big stone box. It feels very sturdy and the stone provides good insulation. There's a non functioning fireplace, a couple tables, and a loft upstairs with some bunks and a hammock. We couldn't get the upstairs or the outhouse doors open despite having the keys but at least the front door works.

After the bod we went back to pick up Kevin. Quick stop in downtown Lerwick and then to Jarlshof. Its a site that's had settlements on it since around 2500BC. We wandered around and listened to the audioguide. They had costumes so I got to pretend I was a Viking for a while.

Went up to the sumbrugh head lighouse after. I walked to the top alone. Nice views but I feel like I'm getting accustomed to extreme beauty at this point. More rainbows on the way back.

We got Nepalese food and ate it in the hut. The butter chicken and cheesy naan was amazing and exactly what I needed.
