Tonight I'll be sleeping in the bod.

In the morning we met a farmer and pet his Shetland ponnies. He had an old sheepdog named fly.

Went out to saint Ninnian's Isle. Its an piece of land attached to the mainland by a sandy spit. Very beautiful. The wind on the spit created a mist of sand low over the ground. Some people were swimming but it looked very cold. There's an ancient church on it and sheep and rabbit holes everywhere. The rabbit holes loom like smurf houses. On the way back, we found pieces of mysteriously patterned rock. It looked like fossils at first but we decided it might be the remains of a sculpture instead. Weird either way. Had a lie in the sand. Very relaxing.

Went into Scalloway to see another Shetland bus site and the house and shed my grandparents built.

Back into Lerwick, we saw some of the locations from the show, "Shetland". Had a giant Shepard's pie at a funny restaurant downtown and headed back to the bod for the night.

It was just getting dark when I arrived. I laid out all my things for the night and decided I should make a campfire. Cracked open a beer with a spoon and started hauling some supplies outside - a chair, some scrap wood, matches, toilet paper, and a bag of peat moss. Spilled most of my beer getting these out. It was very windy so I wasted about ten matches just trying to get the toilet paper to catch the first time. Eventually I got the wind to work with me stoking some embers on a log. After I was confident I had a hot enough pocket, I popped some peat in the fire. By the time it really started going, it was dark, rainy and windy. I waited for it to burn out and doused the final embers before heading inside. Used the beer bottles as candle holders and lit them on the table. Wrote a bit about nothing in particular and caught up with some people on Instagram. It's weird I had cell service but kind of nice.

Snuffed the candles and almost killed myself snuggling into the hammock upstairs. Fell asleep to the wind and rain outside.
