Heading to Leiden and Noordwijk beach today. Wandered Leiden for a bit before heading to my hostel. Its a cute city. Much quieter than Amsterdam. Big shopping street. Lots of students, bikes, and canals. Walked up to a big viking fort with a good view over the city.
The bus to the hostel was about 30 minutes. Picked up some supplies from a grocery store - including a block of cheese.
The hostel is right by the beach. Beautiful location. Definitely seemed a lot quieter than it would be during the summer and on weekends. Still a nice spot but the common areas seemed to be all staff.
Had a shower and headed into town to meet a friend from Korea. I've been really bad at keeping in touch with people from Korea but I'm trying to tell people when I'm in their area. Gabriël was able to make it! Unfortunately, I saw his message kind of late so by the time I got back to Leiden it was around 8pm. Grabbed a drink by one of the canals and caught up. Unfortunately, he had classes in the morning and had to take the train back to Delft so we cut it around 11.
Heading back to my hostel I checked out the beach. There was no one as far as I could see so I walked through the tide and rocked out for a bit.
