Attitude

Since cats have been a part of my life, I really warn you that before buying a cat, you must remember they are not like dogs. They won’t give a damn about you. It doesn’t matter if you give them food, sleep with them, play with them— they just don’t care. They have their own life, in which they are the king or queen/ prince or princess of their own world.

There is a statement somebody made: “Dogs have owners, cats have staff”. It summarises their attitude.

While dogs would be helpful in saving you from a theft, your cat are likely to blame you for letting a thief get into your house.

But this has a good side too. Other pets need a lot of attention. You have to feed them, change their litter, bathe them, take them for walks etc. Cats need none of that. They can live alone. They’ll eat a rat, bath-roll in mud, lick themself up, hunt some birds and so on. In fact, they are mostly happy living alone.

But if you are owning one of them, better take a little care of it. A small bit. Sometimes cats expect you’ll give them food if you have been giving them everyday. Especially if it’s a kitten. I lost some kittens this way.
