Strengthing Bones

Spending time alone in my flat sheltering from the heatwave. Boredom is becoming instilled in me and I see this as a positive development as it sits me closer to the Tao Te Ching:

"…the Sage rules
By emptying hearts and filling bellies,
By weakening ambitions and strengthening bones;
Leads people
Away from knowing and wanting;
Deters those who know too much
From going too far:
Practices non-action
And the natural order is not disrupted…"

When I have nothing but empty time, learning not to fill it is the lesson. It supports my inward eye, opens up questions for my own heart, lets me observe what weight needs to be laid down.

  • Do I need that now?
  • How does life feel with less in it?
  • If nothing happens, is it wrong?

Answers to these questions change on every breath. As does the movement of life and the Tao.

Life and death begin and end with nothing. From point A to point B, healthy food, breath and movement fill the core to let nature unfold.
