Reality Check: China Wants to Destroy the UK

🇬🇧 China considers the UK's previous possession of Hong Kong as one of the most humiliating experiences of their entire history. China's goal is revenge, regardless of how long it takes.
I was convinced Sunak would succumb to a China appeasement strategy if he became Prime Minister of the UK. I also did not believe that Sunak would resolve the EU-UK issues, because he actively campaigned for Brexit. That is why I did not support his candidacy, and I still do not support him, because that appears to be what he is doing so far.
This economic strategy of isolating yourself from your allies (withdrawing from the EU) and appeasing your enemies (China), is going to completely destroy the UK economy. I do not understand why the UK would choose this path.
China is even trying to charm the UK's old adversaries (Germany) from times long past, stir up old rivalries between European nations (UK-France) and (UK-Ireland) and even (Britain-Scotland) in order to accomplish this goal. China's goal is to isolate the UK in Europe, and the UK is falling right into that trap. They will stop at nothing to defeat the UK, including trying to diminish the USA's power to help the UK.
I tried to convince the UK's previous prime minister, PM Boris Johnson, to create a mutually beneficial Withdrawal Agreement between the UK and the EU before leaving the EU, since there was no way to avoid the withdrawal after two democratic elections over the issue. I even pleaded with the US government (both the Trump and Biden administrations) and even the Canadian government to send a mediator to ensure the agreement would be mutually beneficial to no avail. Instead Johnson and his team used the negotiation process as an opportunity to stoke and enflame all of these old rivalries, making all of the problems worse, while courting China. I blame not just Johnson, but also Sunak, for putting the UK in this position. Sunak's style is more refined than Boris Johnson's. He's not openly belligerent to the EU, but his strategy does not appear to be very different.
I wish the UK would learn from the mistakes of Great Powers of the past. Austria's progressive erosion of its position as a Great Power occurred because of its strategy of appeasement - appeasing a self-proclaimed opponent by offering to cooperate with it. The UK was nearly defeated by Nazi Germany for the same reason - a strategy of appeasement. Fighting with your allies and making concessions to your adversaries is a losing strategy.
