The American Public Will Blame Biden if Ukraine Fails

🇺🇸 🇺🇦 We're giving President Biden the opportunity to fix a previous foreign policy failure from the Obama-Biden Administration era - Russia's annexation of Crimea. Securing the Black Sea region is an absolute necessity for our future stability. If he doesn't do that, then we will see him and his team as unable to execute long-term foreign policy strategies that are in our best interest.
His team has strengthened NATO's eastern flank, but that was the easy task. The Baltics insisted on having that done, and they are extremely cooperative for good reason. Poland was also waiting with open arms for an American military base regardless of who was president, and in fact the previous administration negotiated that deal.
Securing the Black Sea region is a totally different kind of task. It's a set of tasks. It requires forcing Russia to end the war, and ensuring they are not able to be aggressive again. It requires pulling all NATO partners together, including Turkey and Hungary. It requires ensuring Finland and Sweden become NATO members, preferably at the same time. It requires establishing a new partnership with Ukraine. It requires restoring Ukraine's territorial integrity. It requires establishing a NATO/US naval base in the Black Sea. It requires resolving differences between Greece and Turkey. It requires helping Moldova remove Russian troops from their country. It requires stabilizing the Balkans. It requires a grand strategy for Georgia and Armenia and Azerbaijan...
None of these tasks have been accomplished yet.
Hopefully Ukraine will win. Hopefully Biden's team is ensuring Ukraine has everything they need to win. Hopefully he is working to ensure Ukraine's grand strategy is still aligned with ours. Biden did visit Ukraine to show his support for the country, which we appreciate. That was cool. But I don't know if that means his team is putting together the right strategy to help Ukraine win this war. Why are they still struggling with ammunition arrangements? Why are we reading about constant haggling among NATO members over tanks and jets and other weapons? I feel his team should be better at coordinating these efforts, and cooperation among NATO members should be fairly easy to obtain.
There are lots of these little failures in less critical tasks that we are witnessing, like seizing Russian assets, or persuading other European countries to join NATO, while all of the tasks we deem as critical are still left undone. Biden is saying what we want to hear, but we don't see a lot of tasks getting accomplished yet. And we really don't want to wait several years just to get the simplest tasks done.
For me, this is not just about Ukraine. Russia is doing horrible things around the world, especially in Africa, but also in Latin America. We want these atrocities stopped starting first with the Black Sea region. We're tired of seeing all of these atrocities happening all over the world. We want Russia out of Ukraine, out of Moldova, out of the Balkans, out of Georgia, and out of Africa. When the Biden Administration get's that done, they can grandstand, but not before then.
