LGBTQ+ Discrimination

🇺🇸 Please explain why anyone from the LGBTQ community would want to do business with an anti-LGBTQ individual. Why would you want to hire an anti-LGBTQ web designer to design your wedding site, when there are plenty of LGBTQ web designers that you can hire? Why would you hire an anti-LGBTQ baker for your wedding cake instead of an LGBTQ baker? I don't understand the LGBTQ community in Colorado. Hire someone from your own community, not evangelicals. In all of the places I have lived in within the USA: Chicago, LA, San Francisco, Miami, or NYC - artists work together - with their friends, with other artists, with the LGBTQ community. I have never worked with an evangelical on anything.

I have never experienced LGBTQ+ discrimination in the art world. The art world is notoriously pro-LGBTQ. The most successful US artist of all time is Andy Warhol, a gay male. He had no children to inherit his fortune, and so he left it all to a foundation formed in his name, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. And that foundation funds almost every creative institution in the USA and many others around the world. There are other foundations as well, such as The Keith Haring Foundation, The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation... etc. Anti-LGBTQ perspectives are not accepted in the art world. You will likely not get any funding from any of these institutions, all founded by gay males, or any art institution that depends on their funding, which is almost all of them, if you are anti-LGBTQ.

So the argument is that businesses might start to deny services to LGBTQ+ members, because of this recent court case. It's not the end of the world if they do. Gays, like myself, will replicate those businesses with LGBTQ-friendly ones. I guarantee our businesses and services will be better. Don't lose any sleep over this court case.

The LGBTQ community will never be "second-class" as Sotomayer has declared. We are best in class.
