Illegal Immigration

🇪🇺 One of the main reasons the British people voted for Brexit is because they wanted the British government to have more control over the management of illegal immigrants. This is one of the biggest negative effects of illegal immigration, but it is not the only one. Many other European citizens from other EU countries are also not pleased with the numbers of illegal immigrants in their home countries. They do not want large groups of foreigners living in their homeland. Numerous other problems are perceived to be created by this mass migration: race riots, looting, increases in violent crime, increases in drug trafficking, high unemployment, and an overall discontent in European society. This problem is causing many Europeans to turn to the far-right for solutions, because the left and the center are not adequately addressing the issue. We all want to be sympathetic to migrants and asylum seekers, but their rights and liberties do not trump the rights and liberties of European citizens.
It's strange to see so much anti-Western and pro-Russian sentiment in African nations, as we have seen in Niger and elsewhere, yet the migrants coming from these areas are not seeking asylum in Russia but in the West they claim to hate. Europe by far has the most illegal immigrants coming from Africa, but the USA has also found thousands of Africans at the US-Mexico border, yet there are none at the Russian or Chinese borders. Either that proves the West is absolutely exceptional, and we should congratulate ourselves for being so, or something else is amiss. We have also seen academics from some African nations displaying a deep resentment for the societies they have emigrated to, which is very alarming. Most recently, we have seen the negative effects of illegal immigration in Sweden, France, and Denmark, who are now being threatened with terrorism because of the activities of migrants by the countries the migrants emigrated from. Migrants are being used as weapons.
Since many of the governments in Africa are still unstable, we can't rely on them to stem the flow of illegal immigration. We must use military force, non-lethal force, such as naval blockades, to prevent human trafficking. I think NATO should address the issue of illegal immigration and secure the external borders of all alliance members. I think all NATO countries should join Italy to prevent human traffickers from continuing these illegal practices in the Mediterranean, which only jeopardizes the lives of the migrants. We should also continue to work with the democratic nations of Africa to help them achieve security and prosperity for the African people. xo
