US-Armenia Relations

🇺🇸🇦🇲 "It's important that other powers start entering the [Caucasus] region. The USA and Turkey [could] offer the countries their own security formulas [guarantees], and perhaps in the future, these security formulas will become more attractive than the Russian one."
This person is clearly not aware of the Armenian genocide committed by Turkey and the dynamics of the region or they would not propose Turkey as a solution. Turkey condones Azerbaijan's activities in the region. Azerbaijan works closely with Turkey on foreign policy and would not have made this recent move without Turkey's full support and approval. Turkey is probably the mastermind of the latest conflict. As long as Turkey is a member of NATO, NATO is not an option for Armenia. So, the best option for Armenia is to create a new bilateral alliance with the USA or France or both. We are the only ones that can keep Armenia secure from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran.
It would be beneficial for the USA to have a military base in Armenia. Armenia borders Iran, but is not Muslim, and therefore will not have any Iranian proxies attacking the military base when there is a crisis in the Middle East. Those benefits along with the large Armenian diaspora in the USA will make a bilateral alliance with Armenia easy for the US Congress to support and pass. It's really up to Armenia's leadership if they want to pursue it, but Armenia will have to end their relationship with Russia first if they want to pursue an alliance with the USA.
Other than offering Armenia an alliance for their future security, there is nothing more the USA can do for Armenia at this time other than provide humanitarian aid, which we are currently doing. xo
