Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

🇮🇱🇵🇸 We are happy to know that the US administration is working on a strategy and solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Americans know it is not an easy task. We realize this conflict may never be solved. It will be a huge accomplishment for the administration to create a new solution, especially a two-state solution. It's important to ensure that any party that breaks the peace, once established, can be held accountable by the international community for their actions and prevent their ability to manipulate public opinion on the conflict the way they have done in the past.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) seems like the only viable option for Gaza's administration, but we are are open to other solutions. We know the PA is corrupt and ineffective. The PA lost the election in Gaza to Hamas, and since then Palestinians have not had an election, because the PA fears losing control of the West Bank as well. We believe the long-term goal should be for the Palestinians to have elections again and be able to elect their leaders. We wish for Palestine to be democratic. So we consider the PA to be only a temporary or transitional administration, unless Palestinians elect them again. We're open to other transitional administrations.

But it's extremely important that we make sure that another terrorist group does not gain control over any Palestinian territories, the same way Hamas has done in Gaza. It's a huge challenge for the administration, but it's the only way to maintain peace between Israel and Palestine. It requires working out ahead of time and detailing in the peace treaty exactly the steps that the international community will take if such a thing happens. We have recommended clauses that ban terrorist groups and individuals from running for office in Palestine, as well as, clauses that will require any group or individual in power to resign if they are designated as a terrorist group or extremist while in power. I think these terms will be easier to enforce if there is a foreign military presence in Gaza and the West Bank to keep the peace for a while. I don't know how long that military presence will be required to maintain a presence in the Palestinian territories. It will probably be a lengthy period of time, possibly a decade or two. I don't think we should commit to any specific length of time, but continue to review the situation periodically to determine if that military presence is still necessary.

I share Israel's feelings about the UN bias against Israel. I have noticed that Socialist-leaning political leaders, like the current UN Secretary-General, tend to be extremely biased against Israel. I believe it has a lot to do with Socialist propaganda on the situation. I have many more thoughts to share on this subject, but I'll save them for later. Those thoughts require detailed explanations with citations to references on how my ideas were formed.

Moving forward, we want Israelis to trust that the foreign military force in the Palestinian territories will prevent the formation of new terrorist groups, and defend Israel. We don't want the Palestinians to live in fear of a foreign military presence either, which will be the case if that military presence is the IDF. We want Palestinians to trust that the foreign military presence is there to secure the peace and protect them. So we would like the US administration to consider this when selecting the appropriate security force. Would Germany or France or Greece be willing to take on this responsibility? Does Israel trust any of the Arab countries to fulfill this responsibility? Turkey, being a Muslim country and a member of NATO seems like a good solution on the surface, but I have misgivings about Turkey's military presence in the region, because it was the Ottoman Empire that controlled the territory for centuries before the current situation developed. Turkey's refusal to leave Cyprus confirms that they are not a reliable solution. Perhaps a mixed force of both Arab and European countries will be the right solution. Maybe Biden should rethink his position on American troops presence in Gaza, so we can contribute a small number of troops to the total peace-keeping force. xo
