Dear Ukraine

🇺🇦 I agree that Kyiv should target the Kerch Bridge. It should be a top priority. But I don't agree that Ukraine needs the latest and greatest missiles to do it. There are better ways to do it. They can do it with dynamite. If there is a will, there is a way. Ukraine will have to use some gorilla warfare tactics to accomplish some of their goals. It's the only way a small nation with limited means can defeat a larger power.
As the author notes, "the most reliable way to completely destroy the bridge would be an engineered demolition using explosive charges placed directly on the bridge at critical points..."
The missiles are not accurate enough, and our allies are concerned about the Russians' ability to reverse engineer their weapons if they get their hands on them. Thus far, they are only giving weapons that are going out of production.
If Ukraine is able to convince Germany to donate the Taurus missiles, that's great for them. It will give them an advantage. But Ukraine should not become convinced that they need these weapons in order to succeed. Ukraine can succeed without them. Ukraine did not have any of these weapons during their initial successes against Russia. Ukraine has the ultimate weapon which is military morale, something Russia will never have.
I believe the US Congress will reach an agreement and pass additional aid for Ukraine.
