Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

🇮🇱🇵🇸 We made our support for Israel's mission to defeat Hamas conditional from the start. We stated that Israel must cooperate with the current US administration and our allies - not the past administration or a potential future administration, but the current US administration. Israel, specifically Netanyahu, must not engage in behavior that undermines our collective security. We believe the terrorist attack on October 7 was coordinated by Iran and Russia and was intended to shift public attention away from Russia's war in Ukraine toward the Middle East. Russia and Iran knew this attack would create anti-Palestinian sentiment among Israel's far-right, and anti-Israel sentiment among Palestine's supporters - the entire Muslim world. They expected and wanted this reaction from Israel to split the unity among the West. Netanyahu must cooperate with the current US leadership, and stop cooperating with our adversaries by playing the role our adversaries want him to play.
We don't believe that defeating Hamas is an impossible mission, and by that we mean removing Hamas from power. We think it is essential to Israel's security as well as Palestine's. The Palestinians will never have a normal life while Hamas, a terrorist group, is in control of Gaza, and the Israelis will never be secure either in that scenario. But as the US administration has repeatedly stated to Israel, how Israel completes their mission matters. The international community wants Israel to abide by all international laws and protect civilian life in Gaza, while they complete their mission. We want hospitals up and running. We want humanitarian aid delivered to Gaza. We want to know that Israel is not bombing indiscriminately. If Israel is not cooperating on these issues, then we will need to be more assertive with them. xo
