Social Justice

🇺🇸 My new art exhibition, Social Justice, will be on view in New York City from September 1 to January 30, 2025 at our pop-up gallery, Pate Projects.
I had my lovely assistant in New York carry a body cam with her over the past four years. She recorded every single thing that happened to her during that time period, including lots of people behaving very badly. She recorded numerous instances of people doing creepy things to an innocent female for no valid reason, totally unprovoked. Every video in this project is real. They are the real like experiences of one single, white female in New York City. Prepare to be shocked and disturbed.
The videos will be handed over to the police after the exhibition ends. We ask viewers if they are able to identify any of the criminals in the videos to report them to a hotline provided. Fortunately, there is no statute of limitations on reporting these crimes, most of which are sex crimes and hate crimes. After viewing them, you will see that the vast majority of the offenders are Black males, although there are also a few Black females and Hispanic males as well. The videos raise a lot of questions about social justice, specifically who is actually experiencing racial injustice in modern society, and who should be paying reparations to whom for these kinds of crimes. We may use this series of videos as evidence in a future social justice case. My assistant will continue this project, capturing her everyday experiences in New York City, and collect more evidence. xo
