That was a misrepresentation of reality. Senator Kyrsten Sinema brought together Republicans and Democrats to write the strongest border bill in decades. It was Kyrsten Sinema's initiative, she was not directed by Biden or Harris, and Sinema is the one who did all of the negotiating with a Republican senator to reach bipartisan consensus on the legislation. Sinema, not Harris, worked closely with the Border Patrol to ensure that they would endorse the bill, making frequent trips to the border to gain a deep understanding of all of the issues at the border - more than Harris ever did. If Harris wants to win voter confidence on immigration issues, she will need to give credit where credit is due, by praising Sinema for her hard work creating a humanitarian, bipartisan border bill, and asking her to take charge of the Department of Homeland Security. Taking credit for someone else's work is not going to convince us that Harris should be the next President of the USA.
Americans support the bipartisan border bill. We want that bill passed into law, and we want the mastermind of that piece of legislation in charge of the Department of Homeland Security. We believe she is the best person for the job.
