Tax the Rich

🇺🇸 That's the rally cry of Socialists, but it's not a viable solution. It's simply a policy proposal that appeals to the poor. Taxing the rich, both individuals and large corporations, is not a policy proposal that Liberals will ever support. Taxing the rich discourages investments and stifles economic growth.

Ireland has extremely low corporate tax rates, the lowest in Europe, and they also have one of the best government budgets in all of Europe because of it.

France, on the other hand, has the highest taxes in all of Europe, and they are facing a huge budget deficit because of it. They have stifled their economy because of the high taxes for welfare spending, and they no longer have enough money to cover their government expenses. Sadly, the latest government, is actually proposing even higher taxes to solve the problem, rather than spending cuts. They still haven't learned that "taxing the rich" is not the solution to their problems, but the cause of them.

Fortunately, Americans are wealthier than Europeans. We have more wealth, because we have more economic freedom. We have more economic freedom, because we are more Liberal, while Europeans are more Socialist.

Taking money away from the most productive and successful people in your society and giving it away to the least productive and successful people is a recipe for economic disaster. Leaders must find ways to encourage productivity, and discourage lethargy without infringing on individual freedoms.

I am very disappointed that the Socialists in the Democratic Party are still talking about taxing the rich. They still have not taken the time to learn how the capitalist economy actually works, and to put together sound economic policy proposals that will encourage economic growth and prosperity for all Americans.

Liberals believe that minimizing the tax burden on Americans is essential for a healthy economy and a healthy society, so that individual Americans may pursue their happiness as they define it.
