🇺🇸🇪🇺 US Liberals support NATO's strategy to protect the Baltic Sea and defend NATO nations against Russia's hybrid warfare tactics. We wish to pursue new international norms or laws that will require guilty nations to pay fines for these hybrid warfare incidents. We wish for the fines to be high enough to cover more than all expenses incurred, and to act as a deterrence. Every crime must have a punishment.
In the art of negotiation, you always start high. I believe that's what Trump is doing when he declared a 5% defense spending target for NATO members. The USA does not spend that much on defense. However, it might be a good idea to start. We clearly have a lot of security issues that need to be addressed. Russia is getting more and more aggressive, and so is China.
