US-Germany Relations

🇺🇸🇩🇪 Former German Chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder, Olaf Scholz's Social Democratic colleague, was sitting on the board of Russian energy companies while Russia invaded Ukraine and stole their natural resources, getting wealthy off of all of Ukraine's losses. Germany, under Angela Merkel's leadership, was still cutting deals with Russia and Putin, rather than Ukraine, even after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. That's appalling, more appalling than anything President Trump has said or done so far.
It was only after extreme pressure from the USA and Russia's second invasion of Ukraine in 2022, that Germany finally, but reluctantly, broke off their relationship with Russia. Yet, Germany continues to protect Gerhard Schroeder, who continues to call Vladimir Putin his dear friend, rather than force Schroeder to be held accountable for his actions. So I find it bizarre that the Germans, especially the Social Democrats in Germany, are obsessed with President Trump's every word, and have now declared that the transatlantic alliance is over. It seems to be something they truly desire and perhaps are even elated about.
Scholz can kill the noise about Trump. Americans do not want to hear it. Our president will work with Ukraine, who is very close to losing a war they never wanted to begin with, because of Germany's constant reluctance to help them and President Biden's German-induced feebleness. I hope the Germans elect a new leader, but I certainly hope it's not the ADF or a Social Democrat. There's not much difference between the two these days.
