Thankfully, I have not seen the moment of Kirk's assassination, and I hope to keep it that way. By now, to come across the guesome moment unwittingly is unlikely. But I've read that a lot of children did see the video on the day it happened, when it scrolled across their screens. In contrast, it wasn't until 1975, twelve years later, that people who were present on the grassy knoll at the time, or were watching live tv (it was all live, then) discovered that the images held in their memory of that day as the motorcade came around the bend into Dealey Plaza had been captured on film, as well—when the Zapruder film was released to the public.
